Gabriela Morawetz


The artist born in Rzeszów, she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow in the department of painting and graphics. After obtaining a diploma in painting in the studio of prof. Jerzy Nowosielski and graphics in the studio of prof. Mieczysław Wejman in 1975, she left to Venezuela. She lived in Caracas until 1983. She obtained an artistic scholarship from the Consejo National de la Cultura and several awards in the field of painting and drawing. In 1983 she moved to France where she lives and works currently.

Gabriela Morawetz has been exhibiting since 1976 in Venezuela, Colombia, USA, Europe, Japan and China, as well as in Poland. Since 2001, he has participated in the Biwako Biennale in Japan many times and since 2012 he regularly exhibits in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen. She is an intermedia artist and In addition to painting, graphics and sculpture, she also produces photographs and video. In her work, she refers to the mental sphere of a human being, confronting him with the timeless aspect of existence. She invokes in her creation symbols and metaphors from the widest possible universe.

Her work can be found in several public and private collections in USA, Venezuela, China, Japan, France, Norway, Spain, Austria as well as in Israel, Switzerland and Poland.
