Maria Kiesner, Ph.D.

Graduation with a degree in Painting, under the mentorship of Professor J. Modzelewski, of the Fine Arts Academy in Warsaw. In 2009, she completed her Ph.D. in Art, titled “The city before the Storm” at the N. Copernicus Fine Art Academy in Torun. Between 2005 and 2007 she pursued a fellowship at the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in Warsaw. From 2008 her professional career pivoted when she became Associate Professor at the Maria Grzegorzewska College of Artistic Education in Warsaw, where she teaches painting and the methodology of teaching art, to this day. During the 2015-2016 academic year she worked as Head Assistant in the studio of Painting and Drawing, under Professors’ Andrzej Bieńkowski and Łukasz Korolkiewicz at the Fine Art Academy’s Faculty of Design. She simultaneously ran an independent Painting Studio within the Fashion Division of the APS Design Department in Warsaw. Most recently, in 2017, by the decision of the High Council of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, she obtained her Postdoctoral title.
